The TPDR guide now speaks 11 languages
The Dungeon Raiders guide just got localized. It's now available in 11 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
TPDR — The Pixel Dungeon Raiders — is a community-driven Twitch RPG: viewers pick a class, raid the dungeon, collect relics and pets, and grind out the town and Honor Shop together in chat. The guide is the reference for all of it — classes, relics, pets, the command list, the lore.
The problem was that the community isn't English-first. A big chunk of the chat reads Spanish or Portuguese natively, with sizeable German, French and Japanese pockets, and the guide being English-only left a lot of people guessing at command syntax. So I localized it.
A few things worth noting from doing it:
- The content is the hard part, not the tooling. Translating class kits and relic effects means keeping game terminology consistent across 11 languages — a mistranslated keyword in a tooltip is worse than no translation. Each locale got its navigation and section titles translated too, not just the body.
- Search works per-language. The guide's search indexes each locale separately, so a German reader searching German terms actually finds the German pages.
- One source, eleven builds. The whole thing still builds from a single content tree, so adding a relic means adding it once and the translations slot in alongside.
If you play TPDR — or you run a chat in any of those languages — the guide is at tpdr-guide.erohz.com. Pick your language from the selector in the header.
